About this role

The Vice President of Operations - Acute Care, is responsible for the development and oversight of acute care community psychiatric facilities. The position will be responsible for identification of target markets, developing new facilities, and building a scalable team capable of supporting new facilities nationwide. Through a respectful, constructive, and energetic style, guided by the objectives of the company, the position will provide leadership, management, and vision necessary to generate consistent growth, provide operational and administrative controls to ensure regulatory compliance, and ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. The Vice President of Operations - Acute Care, will use all company resources to generate measurable returns that benefit the company, the community, and the persons served.

What you bring to the table


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Master's degree preferred.


  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership and operations experience
  • 5+ years in healthcare management, preferably inpatient psychiatric
  • Multi-state operational management experience preferred

What you will do

  • Provide day-to-day leadership and management that mirrors the organizations mission, vision and values of the company.
  • Ensures the development and implementation of service line business plans and market strategy to achieve growth, profitability and market differentiation.
  • Responsible for driving the division to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, cash flow, business goals, and objectives.
  • Motivate and lead a high performance management team.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of the company.
  • Ensure quality metrics are achieved through sound clinical processes.
  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
  • Recruit physicians and staff in targeted specialty areas,
  • Profit and Loss responsibility of the division and works closely with regional and site leadership on budgets, metrics and analytics to measure and improve performance as needed.
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external processes.
  • Provides timely, accurate, and complete reports on the operating condition of the division.
  • Spearhead the development, communication, and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes
  • Assist in forecasting/budgeting by developing overall business plan and budget product delivery.
  • Establishes and attends meetings to provide pertinent information related to hospital operations and the provision of quality services.
  • Interprets public policy, economic developments and public opinion in meeting organizational goals.
  • Participates in hospital associations and healthcare professional organizations.
  • Ensure the development of clear goals that align a unit’s efforts with the organization’s vision and strategic plan.
  • Build strategic alliances both inside and outside the organization to create business opportunities and execute business strategies
  • Provides the highest level of patient experience and ensure senior team alignment around patient experience.
  • Model and drive a culture of accountability and discipline to attain and sustain outperformance in clinical quality, service excellence and earnings.
  • Effectively manage contract negotiations and compliance with the commercial payor community.
  • Monitors, analyzes and reports on health care industry trends, formulates environmental assessments and makes recommendations.
