About this role

The Residential Services Coordinator (RSC) is an entry-level position responsible for providing direct care to a specific patient population under the direction and supervision of treatment personnel at the facility. RSCs are trained to maintain a safe and healthy environment in the facility and during community visits. This position requires a willingness to learn, follow directions, and work collaboratively with treatment personnel to meet patient needs. 

What you bring to the table

Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Must be at least 19 years of age.  Prior work experience with psychiatric patients in a hospital or secure mental health setting preferred, with a focus on patient safety. Must be willing to participate in extensive, ongoing training regarding serious mental illness, de-escalation and intervention techniques, core strategies, patient safety and trauma-informed care.

What you will do

  • Identifies facility training needs, develops annual training plan, and designs, develops or acquires training programs that comply with specific contract and organizational training program requirements. 
  • Administers and coordinates training programs, including new employee orientation, preservice, on-the-job, in-service, specialized, contractor and volunteer training; tracks participation to ensure compliance. 
  • Documents employee training hours, reviews training records, verifies certifications, and advises employees and department heads of re-certification and training deadlines. 
  • Supports facility goals and compliance requirements by evaluating existing training programs and developing or acquiring new ones as needed; manages workflow and identifies and trains part-time/resource trainers. 
  • Possesses knowledge of mandated certifications and training requirements, and has the ability to write and present complex reports, speeches, and other communication materials that are understandable to diverse audiences.
