About this role

Our Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting as well as developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The position supervises Managers, Senior and Staff accountants and Accounting Clerks and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. Manages to meet tight deadlines and is responsible for a multitude of accounting activities including day to day general ledger entries, month end financial reporting, year-end audit preparation, client financial reporting, and supports budget and forecast activities.

What you bring to the table

Education:

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management with an emphasis in Accounting required
  • Master's degree preferred

Experience:

  • Four (4) or more years of relevant experience required

Licenses/Certifications:

  • CPA preferred

What you will do

  1. Responsible for month-end and year-end close activities including but not limited to: preparing and reviewing journal entries, reviewing financial statements, and preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations.
  2. Responsible for all aspects of client financial reporting including preparing, reviewing, and delivering financial statements, staffing reports, and cap reports. Organize and execute conference calls and on-site financial meetings with client representatives.
  3. Coordinate the audit and annual financial statement issuance for the Company and all subsidiaries.
  4. Implement new client contracts by assisting with proposals, reviewing client contracts and support, preparing initial budgets, forming financial reporting packages, and developing relationships with client personnel.
  5. Provide support for other departments and the field by responding timely to questions and information requests. Provide appropriate financial training and gives guidance on financial and operational issues when appropriate.
  6. Research accounting guidance and prepare technical memos on the Company's adherence to GAAP.
  7. Manage department personnel including but not limited to: hiring and training new staff, providing guidance and training to existing staff as needed, handling personnel issues, and performing personnel reviews.
  8. Provide support for other finance functions including budgeting, treasury, accounts payable, and tax services.
  9. Establish and document the Company's financial processes and procedures.
  10. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
  11. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
  12. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
  13. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
