About this role

Our Compliance Manager will analyze contractual, regulatory, licensing and accreditation requirements and their impact on operations; develops compliance risk mitigation and corrective action plans; collaborates with on-site leadership to ensure that operating procedures, systems, and standards align with compliance requirements, controls, and training staff on these controls. This position may require up to 10% travel.

What you bring to the table

Education:       

  • B.S. or B.A. required; Master’s desired.

Experience:     

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably in a correctional healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ACA and NCCHC Standards is critical.
  • Knowledge of Performance Based National Detention Standards is preferred.

Licenses/Certifications:           

  • None required

What you will do

  1. Develop and implement compliance-related policies and procedures at the site-level.
  2. Verify that company and regulatory policies and procedures have been documented, implemented, and communicated.
  3. Assess compliance or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.
  4. Conduct the internal investigation of non-clinical compliance issues.
  5. Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
  6. Design and implement improvements in communication, monitoring, or enforcement of compliance standards.
  7. Disseminate written policies and procedures related to compliance activities.
  8. Prepare reports for management and external regulatory bodies. 
  9. Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
  10. Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on the organization.
  11. Must be able to travel overnight for two to ten days or more as may be required by facility needs.
  12. Must be able to apply principles of critical thinking to a variety of practical and emergent situations and accurately follow standardized procedures that may call for deviations.
  13. Must be able to apply sound judgment beyond a specific set of instructions and apply knowledge to different factual situations.
  14. Must be alert at all times; pay close attention to details.
  15. Must be able to work under stress on a regular or continuous basis.
  16. Perform other duties as assigned.
