About this role

The Director of Clinical Services Hampstead Hospital is responsible for the clinical oversight of all aspects of patient care; directs the delivery of patient care; provides clinical leadership and promotes staff education and training; directs the development and implementation of clinical programming; and initiates performance improvement projects. This position is also responsible for monitoring the quality, integrity, and appropriateness of social work services provided. This individual works collaboratively with the Nursing Department and Medical Staff to ensure all disciplines are working most effectively as a team in the provision of patient care.

What you bring to the table

Education

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology.

Experience

  • Experience working with psychiatric inpatient populations preferred.
  • Experience working with child and adolescent populations preferred.
  • Prior management experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

  • Licensed or license-eligible within 6 months of hire.
  • CPR Certification (within 3 months of hire)
  • CPI Certification (within 3 months of hire)

Compliance

  • Corporate Compliance (within 2 months of hire)

What you will do

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrate current knowledge and expertise in specialty area.
  • Demonstrate leadership ability through use of effective communication, problem solving and team building skills.
  • Direct the development of clinical programming to ensure that the highest quality of patient-centered care is being provided.
  • Provide clinical consultation and support to the Admissions Department.
  • Provide clinical oversight of all clinical services staff.
  • Actively participate in the Patient Care Committee and Performance Improvement Committee.
  • Monitor, oversee, and direct the quality and appropriateness of all documentation to ensure compliance with all Joint Commission, State Licensing, and Medicare standards applicable to clinical services.
  • Develop & maintain professional relationships within the hospital setting, as well as with community mental health providers and managed care liaisons.
  • Review and update all Clinical Policies and Procedures.
  • Develop unit services in accordance with hospital mission.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies.
