About this role

The Compliance Specialist Hampstead Hospital supports the facility-wide compliance and performance improvement activities to meet contract, accreditation, and regulatory standard, and achieve demonstrated best practice patient care and safety outcomes. Assist PI/Risk Manager in conducting inspections and audits to monitor contract and standards compliance, assisting departments with data collection, tracking and trending to monitor performance of processes and systems, and implementation of appropriate improvement actions, when indicated.

What you bring to the table

Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree required in human services, health care field, management, or related field. Masters’ degree preferred.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in performing tasks related to monitoring compliance, designing and improving processes, data collection, analysis, and reporting
  • Experience working with accreditation or regulatory standards highly desirable.
  • Experience with Six Sigma or LEAN process improvement methodologies desirable.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and computer skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, required.
  • Experience with data analysis software desirable.

Licenses/Certifications

  • CPHQ, Six Sigma, or other quality or compliance professional certification desirable.
  • Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) as required by site contract.

What you will do

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in conducting audits and inspections to validate service provision and documentation according to contract requirements, regulatory standards, and applicable policies and procedures.
  • Creates, maintains, and reviews spreadsheets to track compliance with assigned compliance indicators.
  • Prepares for and responds to internal facility self-assessments and audits conducted to monitor ongoing performance and effectiveness of processes.
  • Prepares for and coordinates external audit activities.
  • Prepares for and submits response and/or corrective action plans. Vigilantly follows-up on outstanding items following client contract audits, corporate audits, and audits or inspections performed by accreditation or regulatory bodies.
  • Supports other departments in the identification of appropriate performance indicators to measure the day-to-day implementation and outcomes of departmental processes; developing and implementing appropriate monitoring and data collection tools for ongoing measurement and assessment of department performance; and monitoring of indicator reports to track trends.
  • Assists in providing training to staff on performance improvement methods, tools, team approaches, root cause analysis, and project presentations.
  • Prepares and provides training to partners on compliance related subjects.
  • Assists with patient, staff, and other stakeholders’ satisfaction survey when requested.
  • Assists PI/Risk Manager in reviewing, investigating and reporting on events at the facility. Tracks and trends all incident reports and summarizes data monthly for analysis by leadership.
