About this role

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for implementing the long-term vision of the ServiceNow platform. This position partners with staff and business units to understand business needs, implement new workflows and support ServiceNow to help meet their objectives. This position provides expert technical guidance to others within the ServiceNow Support team and ServiceNow Stakeholders. In addition, this position works closely with vendors for issue resolution, oversees quality assurance and oversees application availability and security.

What you bring to the table


  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field; or equivalent work experience


  • 5 years of related IT experience demonstrating a progression of increasing responsibility
  • 2-3 years recent experience working with CSS, HTML, and JavaScript
  • 2-3 years recent experience working with relational databases and SQL
  • 2-3 years recent experience working with the ServiceNow core architecture, workflows, API, and ITSM module
  • 2-3 years recent experience integrating the ServiceNow platform with external applications and data sources

What you will do


  • Responsible for the overall Development within the ServiceNow platform
  • Conducts requirements gathering and analysis to understand business needs or business problems which can be translated to ServiceNow solutions.
  • Consults with systems engineers and architects on developing IT standards for the business while facilitating the translation of client requirements into technical designs for large IT solutions.
  • Supports software testing, deployment, maintenance, and evolves activities by correcting programming errors, responding to scope changes, and coding software enhancements.
  • Maintains records for the documentation of systems development and revisions.
  • Coaches and reviews the work of lower-level professionals.
  • Responsible for the development of workflows and applications within the ServiceNow platform, which support the streamlining and automation of business processes
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining integrations between the ServiceNow platform and external systems
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining documentation related to the ServiceNow platform
  • Manages and maintains relationships with key departments throughout the Organization to understand business needs, implement solutions and support customers
  • Provide advanced support for ServiceNow by troubleshooting a variety of difficult software problems, implementing bug fixes, and performing root cause analysis.
  • Collaborates closely with project managers to provide updates on project progress and communicate issues that may impact project success
  • Recommends and contributes to development of best practices and standard operating procedures and provides technical expertise for Support teams
  • Able to appropriately assess and communicate risks, benefits, and alternatives.
