About this role

The Clinical Director MASAC provides clinical and administrative oversight, direction, and planning of all clinical and recovery treatment programming. Assumes a leadership role in clinical program management inclusive of CARF accreditation, strategic planning, performance improvement and compliance, and staff development.

What you bring to the table


  • Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, mental health counseling, social work or related field.


  • Two years of experience in an inpatient substance abuse treatment program, psychiatric or correctional facility preferred.
  • Leadership experience strongly preferred.


  • Licensed or immediately license-eligible in state of employment as a Psychologist, Mental Health Counselor, Social Worker or Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. 

What you will do



  • Provide leadership in the operational and clinical practice standards specific to a CARF accredited inpatient treatment facility.
  • Provide leadership to the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) Team.
  • Ensure the maintenance of a comprehensive treatment schedule to include mental health, substance abuse recovery treatment, and activity therapy.
  • Provides clinical supervision of treatment planning and monitors plans and clinical documentation for quality.
  • Provides leadership in treatment planning, teaching and modeling staff how to write and implement multi-disciplinary, strength-based, person-centered treatment planning
  • Ensure the provision of individual recovery programming for patients unable to cope with traditional group activities or non-English speaking patients.
  • Responsible for ongoing updates and maintenance of relevant policies and procedures of department.
  • Maintain a training program for clinical staff focused on clinical competencies.
  • Evaluate staff competencies at regular intervals using an established protocol.
  • Provides clinical support and supervision to the Mental Health Director, Substance Abuse Counselor Coordinators,
  • Activity Therapy Coordinator and other direct reports as assigned.
  • Ensures the ongoing growth and development of a diversified evidence based group curricula at all clinical discipline levels.
